Dariana Almeyda is the Outreach and Partnerships Manager at the Research Alliance for New York City Schools, where she contributes to the execution of the Research Alliance’s communication strategy and stakeholder engagement through the website, social media, and publications.
Prior to joining the Research Alliance, Dariana was part of the Senior Student Life team at Columbia University's High School Immersion Program. She created and presented seminars for high school students on the transition from high school to college. Dariana was a recipient of the prestigious Cetrino Family Scholarship, which supported her work as a research assistant in education projects at the Benjamin Center for Public policy. There she did research on instruments to measure social and emotional learning (SEL), collected data on professional development opportunities for technology integration in public schools, and conducted research on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and Excelsior Scholarship. She is particularly interested in educational equity for English Language Learners in public schools.
Dariana earned an M.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in Adolescence Education (English) and a minor in Theatre Performance from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
