Abeba aka Beebs, is a dynamic dancer, choreographer, educator, and visionary, known for her versatility and creative flair. With a strong foundation in dance genres such as Hip-Hop and Dancehall, she brings a blend of authenticity and innovation to every performance. Abeba earned her B.A. in Dance and Public Relations from Hofstra University, where she trained under the mentorship of distinguished artists like Dyane Harvey-Salaam (Founding Member of Forces of Nature Dance Theatre) and Earl Mosley (Founder of E.M.O.D.). Her career highlights include performances on Wonderama TV and collaborations with international recording artists like Estelle Darlings, Fatman Scoop, HoodCelebrityy, and more.
Abeba successfully completed her M.A. in Dance Education at NYU Steinhardt, specializing in Teaching Dances of the African Diaspora. She is proud to take on various roles in her field of study including Artistic Director for Fit4Dance NYC’s Childrens’ Dance Program, where she strives to guide, inspire, and nurture the next generation of dancers. Additionally, she is thrilled to join the faculty of NYU Steinhardt as an adjunct professor, where she will passionately share and celebrate the rich culture of Hip-Hop. With a deep passion for dance education and a commitment to artistic freedom, Abeba continues to contribute her unique voice to the dance community.
