Rehabilitation Sciences Research Featured at Rusk Rehabilitation 75th Anniversary Research Symposium

Rehabilitation Sciences core faculty (Professors Anat Lubetzky, Sonja Molfenter, and Gerald Voelbel), program alumnus Dr. Mark Vorensky '23, and doctoral candidate Lori Ragni all presented some of their recent work at the NYU Rusk Rehabilitation 75th Anniversary Research Symposium on September 22, 2023. 

Four of the ten presentations at the symposium and two of the poster highlights featured Rehabilitation Sciences faculty and former or current students: 

  • "Virtual Environments vs Traditional Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial," by Anat Lubetzky, PT, PhD, CSCS
  • "The Design and Use of a 3D Printed Dynamic Upper Extremity Orthosis (DUEO) for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Severe Upper Extremity Involvement: A Pilot Study," by Lori Ragni, MS, OTR/L, BCP
  • "Neuroplasticity Driven Brain Changes: The next frontier in brain injury cognitive rehabilitation" by Gerald Voelbel, PhD
  • "Patient-clinician relationships and chronic low back pain: The effect on objective measures of function, appraisals of pain, and an examination of health disparities," by Mark Vorensky, PT, PhD, DPT, SCS, OCS
  • "Changes in Head Kinematics Post Vestibular Rehabilitation," poster presented by Anat Lubetzky, PhD
  • "Establishing IDDSI levels of thick beverages at national chain restaurants: Making fast food drinks accessible," poster presented by Sonja Molfenter, PhD, SLP
