Marilyn Nonken Featured at V Contemporary Piano Meeting

Director of Piano Studies Marilyn Nonken will present a lecture-recital on spectral piano music, notably the works of Tristan Murail, on this international online symposium organized by the University of São Paulo, Federal University of Minas Gerais, ESMAE, and CESEM.

Dr. Nonken will be a featured presenter on the V Contemporary Piano Meeting, a virtual international symposium organized by the University of São Paulo (Brazil), Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), the School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE-Portugal), and the Research Center in Sociology and Musical Aesthetics (CESEM-Portugal). This year, a focus is on spectral music and the relationship between the French spectral composers, such as Tristan Murail and Gérard Grisey, and the Brazilian composer Almeida Prado. The Symposium will be entirely online, November 12-13, 2020.
