International Education Week, November 16-20, 2020, is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to celebrate international education and exchange around the world. NYU joins thousands of educational institutions in raising-awareness about global learning opportunities and showcasing the significant impact of educational initiatives that cross borders and cultures.
Study abroad activities have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 health pandemic, but many colleges and universities across the U.S. remain committed to the provision of global learning opportunities. NYU Steinhardt responded quickly to these challenges transitioning graduate short-term study abroad programs to remote global courses. Many courses at NYU Global Academic Centers were offered in remote synchronous formats open to all undergraduate students regardless of location. Remote synchronous courses taught from NYU Global sites will continue in the spring. Additionally, NYU launched Go Local initiatives to provide international students in-person courses in select programs in their home countries.
Many departments across NYU are celebrating their commitment to international education this year by hosting various virtual events that promote global learning and perspectives and will be free to all students, faculty, administrators, and staff to join.
