IHDSC scholarly affiliate Jordan Kinder, Assistant Professor in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at NYU Steinhardt, was recently named a 2026-2028 Red Natural History Fellow.
In its third year, the Red Natural History Fellowship seeks to advance work that “confronts the systems that reproduce colonial and ecological harm, supports communities leading struggles for justice, and honors life in all its forms—past, present, and future.”
Dr. Kinder is one of seven Fellows selected from more than 100 applicants, rounding out a cohort of experienced scholar-activists, researchers, writers, and organizers dedicated to addressing ecological and social crises through diverse methods and strategies. The two-year fellowship will aim to resource and amplify their work through production and communications support, as well as connection with a growing community of practice.
