Department of Occupational Therapy Statement on Anti-Racism

Posted

We fully support the protests against the systematic racism that led to the senseless murder of George Floyd and so many others.

We are committed as a department to doing the hard work of listening and learning, and turning these conversations into “bold action steps that last beyond the lifespan of a statement,” as our Dean outlines. We are currently reviewing the representation of voices presented through our syllabi, class lectures, and informal learning opportunities and we seek to go beyond inclusivity and diversity and commit to anti-racist principles and actions.

To our BIPOC faculty, adjuncts, staff, students, alumni, and colleagues, we see you in this incredibly painful time and recognize you’ve been living it every day.

We will be better. We have to.
