Screen Scoring program director Ronald Sadoff and Gillian B. Anderson, co-founders/editors of the journal Music and the Moving Image, are interviewed in an episode of the University of Illinois Press’s podcast series The UPside. The interview chronicles their 15 years of stewardship of the premiere and pioneering peer-reviewed journal, dedicated to the study of screen music. The UIP journal, along with its annual NYU Steinhardt conference of the same name, is widely acknowledged as a major nexus for the field of international scholars, as well as having spawned innumerable texts and research in the field. Music and the Moving Image is available through UIP, JSTOR, and ProQuest. In celebration, the upcoming MaMI Conference XII, May 27-30, will feature a keynote presentation by Howard Shore, the venerable composer of such films as Lord of the Rings and Silence of the Lambs.
