New Exhibitions

BFA Senior Honors Studio: The Magician's Choice on view until May 17, 2026.

The Magician's Choice is a group exhibition curated by 80WSE Director, Howie Chen, and features the artwork of nine BFA Studio Art Majors in the final year of their undergraduate studies at the New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development’s Department of Art & Art Professions.

Hoodwinked brings together five NYU MFA candidates in a game of barriers, overgrowth, decoys, fronts, and obstacles. Confronting our desperate times, each artist turns concealment into a generative act.

Department News & Announcements

The Mütter Museum Historical Medical Library in Philadelphia is highlighting historical contributions to the development and practice of art therapy in the United States in their exhibition, Creative Processing: Art in Therapy. Several projects developed and led by Marygrace Berberian (Faculty) and Rohita Kilachand (Art Therapy Adjunct Faculty), have been selected for this exhibition which opened on March 21st.

Linda Rotua Sormin (Faculty) celebrated her immersive exhibition Linda Rotua Sormin: Uncertain Ground at the Gardiner Museum with an evening of art, poetry, and storytelling. The program featured Sormin reading from her poetry volume that accompanies the exhibition, along with invited poets sharing works inspired by the exhibition’s themes.

Valentina Castellani (VAA Adjunct Faculty) published Trading Beauty: Art Market Histories from the Altar to the Gallery, an illustrated survey that traces the evolution of the Western art market from the medieval era to the present day. The book was recently featured in an Artnews article by Brian Boucher.

Alumni News

Carol Bove's (Studio Art BS Alum) retrospective exhibition Carol Bove was recently featured by the New York Times in an article by Deborah Solomon and Myrthe Giesbers. Bove was also interviewed by Alison Stewart for the New York Public Radio show All Of It with Alison Stewart. Carol Bove is on view at The Guggenheim Museum until August 2, 2026.
