Purpose Statement
To build on the interdisciplinary mission and ethos of Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development through research, service, programs and cross-sector partnerships that reimagine and foster equitable and ethical transformations of individuals, organizations, schools and communities, globally.
Focus Areas
Focus 1: Degree Programs
Develop new degree programs and expand existing ones centered on leadership and innovation. Steinhardt-wide EdD degree program in collaboration with department leaders and through direction of a faculty steering committee. Support leadership.
Focus 2: Executive Education
Develop new executive education program opportunities and expand upon existing ones. Explore opportunities to develop microcredentials in burgeoning subfields related to leadership; organizational learning and development; management; and innovation.
Focus 3: Social Impact Ventures
Identify opportunities to incubate or expand social impact ventures aligned with school disciplines and faculty research. Cultivate partnerships for product/program development and funding, and support ventures in their operational and strategic growth.

Rooted in a rigorous academic experience, this doctorate is designed for cross-sector leaders who are motivated to create change in education and learning.
Office of Leadership and Innovation Steinhardt Innovation Grant/Award
The NYU Steinhardt Innovation Grant is aimed at leveraging the research, talents, and spirit of interdisciplinary collaboration within the NYU Steinhardt community to showcase the mission of Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. This includes, but is not limited to addressing racial, economic, and social inequality across intersecting identities and systems in areas such as education, family income and employment, health, housing, immigration, and legal and welfare systems.
We provide funding to support and pilot innovative projects that serve both the Steinhardt community and the New York City community at large. Projects are required to fit within one or more of our focus areas of: Culture; Education; and Human Development.

Alumni Gathering: Building a Movement

We are excited to announce that NYU Steinhardt is hosting an inaugural Leadership and Innovation Alumni Gathering event Thursday, October 26, 2023 through Sunday, October 29, 2023 for EDLI Alumni and Executive Summit Alumni. NYU has a long-standing and deep commitment to providing immersive experiences that extend beyond the borders of the NYU campus. The Alumni Gathering will provide a unique opportunity for alumni to re-engage with their cohort colleagues, make new connections, expand their alumni network and build a movement that will last a lifetime.
