Physical Therapy Celebrates 100 Years

In 1927, the NYU Department of Physical Therapy began a journey that would change the landscape of rehabilitation. In 2027, we aren’t just celebrating a birthday—we’re celebrating a century of excellence in movement, leadership, and clinical services.

NYU Physical Therapy began a journey of movement, healing, and innovation in 1927. Fast forward a century, and that legacy is carried forward by you—our incredible community of students, alumni, faculty, and community supporters—in clinics, hospitals, and communities across the globe.

We are thrilled to announce that on September 23–24, 2027, we will be celebrating our Centennial Anniversary. This isn't just a milestone for the university; it’s a celebration of every patient’s life changed and every professional barrier broken over the last 100 years.
