My name is Alison Rangel and I am running for Academic Fieldwork & Capstone Coordinators—Academic Leadership Council (AFWCC-ALC) Chairperson. Here is a bit more information about me!
Position Statement
We are experiencing new versions of ourselves, reassessing our priorities and aligning our values to ensure that our profession is an accurate reflection of who we are and what we have to offer our communities. It has never been a more critical time to advocate for culturally representative and equitable practices on all levels.
I am exceptionally passionate about the unique capacity our profession can serve in exhibiting these values to be in accordance with what is desperately need in our respective communities. My roles in the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) Clinical Education Task Force and the Metropolitan Occupational Therapy Education Council (MOTEC) of New York & New Jersey have made me acutely aware of how amazing we can be together in affecting change. In my nine years as an academic fieldwork coordinator, I have learned that we are uniquely suited for our roles as we perform the balancing act for our respective programs with one foot in the classroom and another foot in our practice settings.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve as a leader to our hardworking, indispensable group of AFWCs and Capstone Coordinators as we know these roles possess the organization skills, future vision, and acumen to navigate the challenges presented daily.
