Research Description/Bio:
Lukas (he/him/his) is a first-year, part-time Doctoral Student. Lukas’ current research interests include examining Political Expression and Activism in Higher Education and LGBTQ+ Students in Secondary and Higher Education.
In addition to his studies, Lukas serves as the Associate Director of Student Involvement within the Center for Student Life at NYU. Lukas received his BA in Philosophy from Warren Wilson College, exploring free speech zones and dissent in democratic societies, and his MA in Social and Cultural Analysis from NYU, where he researched environmental racism in the hog-agriculture industry in North Carolina. Outside of work and school, Lukas is a plant parent, enjoys going to the theatre, trying new restaurants, and traveling to new places with his partner.
