Research description/bio:
Erika is a first-year part-time Ph.D. student in the program. Her background in student affairs, specifically in university admissions and residential life, have framed her holistic understanding of the student experience. She is interested in first-generation student experiences, the role of spirituality in student’s identity formation, and how social capital shapes student experience and belonging within education systems.
Erika holds a MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs from NYU Steinhardt, and a BA in Sociology and Latin American Studies from the University of San Francisco.
