Undergraduate Steinhardt students have access to many creative, educational, and informational clubs that add to the college experience overall. Check out our list of clubs below!

A Class Act (inactive)

What we're about: A Class Act NYU provides opportunities for students to gain theatre experience, whether that be performing, directing, producing and/or designing. A Class Act NYU will give students the experience needed for their futures in teaching and in community and/or professional theatre.

Applied Psychology Undergraduate (APUG) Club

What we're about: The Applied Psychology Undergraduate (APUG) Club is a student-run organization committed to providing opportunities for students to explore the discipline of psychology outside of the classroom.  Through service, social, and educational activities, members of APUG Club can enhance their understanding and appreciation of psychology and the thinking that informs their professional field.

American Sign Language (ASL) Club

What we're about: ASL Club is dedicated to Deaf culture and American Sign Language. We act as support for anyone in the ASL classes and for those interested in American Sign Language but have not yet been immersed. During our meetings we talk about important deaf individuals, play games involving sign language, discuss controversial issues within Deaf Culture, and organize events that expose our members to an in-depth signing/cultural experience. ASL Club at NYU is a place where anyone from the novice to the expert can come to improve their signing skills. We play games, have discussions, and learn from each other all in a non-pressure environment. Our meetings are voices-off! Chinese Traditional Music Club

What we're about: The mission of the organization is to build a community at NYU that provides students with the opportunities to connect with those who share the same passion for Chinese traditional music and to experiment with different styles of music. Our ultimate goal is to share the uniqueness of traditional Chinese music with the Steinhardt community.

Classical Voice Collective

What we're about: It is our mission to provide students greater exposure to the world of opera and Art songs, as well as provide more performance opportunities in these genres including putting on an opera every year and other professional development events.

NYU CommClub

What we're about: CommClub works closely with the MCC department to provide fun and informative events in the field of communications. We host Q&As with leading professionals in the industry, site-visits all around the city, as well as informal skill building workshops. Our events are a great opportunity to hone your networking skills and connect with peers and professionals with similar interests. We also offer the chance for students to share their original work on our online platform as Content Creators.

Composers' Collective

What we are about: NYU Composers' Collective (CC) exists, first and foremost, to promote the music of NYU Steinhardt composers. The title of composer is not exclusively referring to those pursuing a major in Music Theory and Composition, but to all who contribute to expanding the repertoire of contemporary music. With each event, we strive to spotlight and showcase the wide range of talents found at our school: cutting edge concert composers, film composers, songwriters, and electronic music composers are all to be given opportunities for promotion and exposure. The wide variety of events CC puts on—concerts, guest speakers, workshops, etc.—attempt to service the needs of music-makers of all types and genres, expanding the opportunities offered to those who study music at NYU Steinhardt.

Contemporary Music Society

What we are about: We provide performance opportunities, workshops, and social events for contemporary music loving students!!

Club EAT

What we're about: Eating. Affecting. Talking. As passionate students within the fields of nutrition, dietetics, and food studies, we come together with the common interests of reaching out to the public through volunteer work, expanding our own professionalism through career development, and enjoying the process with social events. Some traditional events include film screenings, cooking demos, holiday eating, and networking events.

Education Studies Student Committee (ESSC)

What we're about: The mission of the Education Studies Student Committee (ESSC) is to create a unified community across our student body. We aim to provide academic, social, and professional opportunities that will enrich the undergraduate experience in the Education Studies Program. Through this commitment, we hope to foster the exchange of knowledge and cross-cultural understanding. We aim to build lasting relationships between faculty, alumni, and current students.

Mud Budz Interdisciplinary Clay Club (inactive)

What we're about: MUD BUDZ is a space for creators of all kinds to network, collaborate, and share ideas. With clay-based projects and learning opportunities as a foundation for this club, we aspire to expand the skill-set of the club’s members while providing a sense of community that accepts and investigates a wide range of creative disciplines. Though this course is geared towards those enrolled in BA, BFA, and Art Therapy curriculums, it is open to all NYU undergraduates who want to explore their creative side, discover a new hobby, and make some new Budz!

Music Technology Student Ambassadors

What we're about: The Music Technology Student Ambassadors aim to act as a bridge between those of all skill levels interested in Music Technology and other related musical and technical fields. Our goal is to close the gap between undergraduates, masters, PhD students, and faculty members as well as musical researchers in the NYU network in order to open up opportunities for collaboration and growth in the field. We host workshops and networking opportunities open to any students interested in the intersection of technology and music, and work to make communication and collaboration between students, faculty, and other music programs more fluid.

National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSHLA)

What we're about: NYU NSSLHA is an academically based student-run organization designed to meet the needs and interests of students studying communicative sciences and disorders.  In addition to addressing academic concerns, the group performs community service and organizes social events for its members.Traditional events include the Walk4Hearing and the Winter Banquet. NSSLHA also runs a mentorship program to connect incoming students and upperclassmen. This Chapter strives to: encourage professional interest among college and university students in the study of human communication sciences and disorders, provide continuity to the dissemination of professional information, and to provide a vehicle for student representation in matters of professional concern.

Student Music Educators of NYU (SMENYU)

What we're about: SMENYU is a club dedicated to the advocacy of music through service and education.  All majors are welcome!  Our mission is to provide the resources and opportunities for students concerned with issues in music education to come together with each other and with faculty for the purposes of professional development and networking, as well as outreach to the community!  Look out for our annual Concert for A Cause, which provides performance opportunities for all Steinhardt students and raises money for music programs across NYC!

Teaching and Learning Club

What we're about: We are a club for Teaching and Learning students who wish to discuss issues surrounding education, and participate in service projects. We are a club for Steinhardt students who are passionate about education both in the classroom and out. Throughout the year, we host community service and community building events, such as volunteering in schools through our annual book drives, card-making for local hospitals, and more social events like crafting and trivia nights.

Our mission is to connect with the students not only in Teaching and Learning, but anyone in Steinhardt who is interested in education or teaching. We tend to host one to two events per month. Our events will range on date and time each meeting, to try and meet the schedules of everyone. Attendance is not required, but it is encouraged!

Uproar Theater Corps (Uproar)

What we're about: We are a theatre club devoted to producing new theatrical works as well as sponsoring workshops, panels, and theatrical competitions for the Steinhardt community. We aim to create an environment where students can involve themselves in theatre. We welcome new theatre goers and encourage students to experiment with their traditional ideas of theatre as well as their role in theatre.
