Name: Clare Doyle
Preferred Email: cmd9708@nyu.edu
Hometown: Mount Kisco, New York
BA institution and degree: UC Santa Barbara, Middle Eastern Studies (Arabic Language) BA; Political Science BA
MA institution and degree: N/A
Research Interests:
My research interests center on reducing mental health inequalities for mixed-status and asylum-seeking children directly affected by violence across borders, legal immobility and the structures of criminalization in and outside the U.S. I am passionate to learn how communities and institutions collectively respond to these complex challenges and advance research that assists youth towards protected migration and healthy emotional development.
Career Goals:
After NYU, I hope to pursue a career mixing research with advocacy. I look to focus on advising policies and programs seeking justice alongside immigrant children and their communities, such as a MHPSS Specialist or Advocate.
Why HDRP?
This program presented a rare, interdisciplinary opportunity to explore the link between psychological development and social justice policy. I appreciated how the program is led by faculty actively doing such research, and extends lab work and career interests as part of the curriculum!
