The Steinhardt Arts and Humanities Collective seeks to highlight, energize, make relevant, and further integrate the arts and humanities into the broader education curriculum and research at NYU.
We are a multidisciplinary group that aims to foster collaboration between members who share interests in humanities-centered inquiry. In doing so, we have established connections, expanded and bridged collaborations that promote the scholarship of humanities across disciplines, and enhanced both research and teaching at NYU.
The group, made up of faculty and students, highlights initiatives and research based in the humanities and arts. We facilitate a series of meetings where members explore and share expertise and experience with issues relating to studying and understanding the human condition. Additionally, the group organizes and hosts public presentations promoting group members’ research and showcasing humanities work, team-teaching seminars for first year students in Steinhardt, and hosting conferences.
