Since 1986, guitarist Wayne Krantz has played and/or recorded for: Dave Binney, Chris Potter, Donald Fagen, The Brecker Brothers, Steely Dan, Billy Cobham, Carla Bley, Victor Bailey, Tanya Maria, Michael Formanek, Leni Stern, Mike Manieri, Gabriella Anders, and Ari Hoenig, to name a few.
As a leader, he has worked artists including Keith Carlock, Tim Lefebvre, Cliff Almond, Gary Novak, Anthony Jackson, Lee, Zach Danziger, Anton Fig, Dennis Chambers, Hiram Bullock, Lincoln Goines, James Genus, Don Alias, Ari Hoenig, John Patitucci, Vinnie Colaiuta, Kenny Wollesen, and Pino Palladino.
Krantz has recorded ten CDs as a leader including Signals (’91), Long To Be Loose (’93), 2 Drink Minimum (’95), Separate Cages (’96), Greenwich Mean (’99), Your Basic Live (’03), Your Basic Live ’06, Krantz Carlock Lefebvre (’09), Howie 61 (’12), Good Piranha Bad Piranha (’14), and has published his book An Improviser’s OS in 2005. Krantz has been a member of the NYU Jazz faculty since 2006.
