Daniel Shelly has been a member of The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 2004. Mr. Shelly is an active performer in New York City and also performs with Mostly Mozart, The Orchestra of St. Lukes, Chamber Music at Carnegie Hall, and has worked with The New York Philharmonic, The New York City Ballet, The Hawaii Symphony, The New Mexico Symphony,The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, The New York Symphonic Ensemble, The Jupiter Chamber players, and  the Sarasota Opera Orchestra.  

Mr. Shelly was invited to teach on the faculty of The Verbier Music Festival where he coached an orchestral performance class, Rutgers University, The Londrina Music Festival in Brazil, and has taught privately in Japan, Switzerland, Brazil, and New York City. Mr. Shelly regularly coaches a variety of brass and woodwind instrumentalists auditioning for professional orchestral jobs and advanced degrees. He is also an avid chamber music coach.

Mr. Shelly can be heard on the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra live broadcasts on Sirius Radio and WQXR throughout the Metropolitan Opera Season.
