Tamara Sewell studies special education teacher preparation practices in early childhood through secondary education. She has served as a special education teacher, program director, IFSP/IEP service coordinator, and teacher educator. Sewell has published her work in Early Childhood Education Journal, Tennessee’s Children, and a chapter titled, “Considering social justice and picture books,” in Social Justice and Education: Navigating Stormy Waters (Cummings & Hathaway, 2010). She has served as an assistant professor of early childhood special education at Adelphi University and an instructor at Bank Street College.
