As an educator, director, and actor with 15 years of professional experience in the arts, Lauren is dedicated to the exploration of theatre as a catalyst for social change. She designed and published an interactive workshop entitled Culturally Responsive Drama which links curriculum design, assessment methods in the drama classroom, and the fostering of a supportive learning environment for students of all backgrounds. Lauren is also a member of the Steinhardt Arts Education Training Program where she provides insights and feedback for emerging teachers in New York City. 

Lauren’s favorite days as an educator include her directing and teaching teenagers in New York City Public Schools where she created an original Theatre Arts Curriculum for Grades 6-12 and directed over 20 productions including Clybourne Park, Stop Kiss, Dreamgirls, and Dog Sees God. In addition to currently teaching in the Educational Theatre Program, Lauren is a doctoral candidate at NYU Steinhardt with her current work focusing on the bridge between socially conscious theatre and verbatim performance.  Lauren holds an M.A. from New York University and a B.A. from Tufts University in Theatre and Communications.
