The Consortium for Research and Evaluation of Advanced Technologies in Education (CREATE)
Sara is a researcher and designer for the CREATE Lab working on:
- VR Emotion Design: a research project investigating how visual and auditory designs in VR effect emotions and learning- recruiting participants, collecting data, and disseminating research findings
Cosmos VR: designing the Lab's next VR learning simulation- a learning simulation about the universe (Cosmos)
In the past, Sara has designed graphic designs for the Lab's merchandise and created and edited videos for the lab's summer program and research pitches.
Outside of the CREATE Lab, Sara collaborates with the MIT Media Lab on research projects involving:
- Art + AI: student-AI co-creation practices to create art
- NeuraFutures exhibit: teaching Brain-Computer Interfaces through science fiction and exploring how people process, perceive, and learn based on the presentation and interaction opportunities within the exhibit
Sara is also working on projects with NYU's ELEVATE Lab, researching and designing:
- TouchBase: a Tangible Programming Language with physical coding blocks as opposed to a GUI- investigating design implications and form factor shape learner conceptions on coding
- ShineBright: an electronics kit that allows for a more scaffolded learning approach for creative physical computing
