Aneth Naranjo (she/her) is an Ecuadorian youth justice organizer. She is currently the Youth Justice Program Manager for the Education Justice Research and Organizing Collaborative (EJ-ROC) at NYU Metro Center. As one of the early founders of the youth councils at IntegrateNYC, Aneth has organized with other NYC students advocating for student rights and investigating the city’s segregated educational systems since high school. Through her advocacy work, Aneth has designed and executed the organizational structures and projects at IntegrateNYC, and has been a central facilitator and trainer in the youth leadership development capacity of the organization. Over time, her efforts developed to confront youth agency in more specific systems, namely the legal space. As a founding member of The Peer Defense Project, Aneth grounded her social activism work in creating legal tools for youth leaders and organizers. Across her work, Aneth focuses on leading through healing using transformative justice and decolonized frameworks.
