Agnieszka Roginska is Music Professor of Music Technology at New York University. Dr. Roginska (B.Mus. '96 McGill; M.M. '98 NYU; Ph.D. '04 Northwestern) conducts research in the simulation and applications of immersive and 3D audio including the capture, analysis and synthesis of auditory environments, auditory displays and its applications in augmented acoustic sensing. She is the author of numerous publications in the areas of the acoustics and psychoacoustics of spatial sound, immersive audio and auditory displays, and is the co-editor of the book titled "Immersive Sound: The Art and Science of Binaural and Multi-Channel Audio". She has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in 3D Audio, Digital Signal Theory, Acoustics, Advanced Projects in Immersive Sound, Thesis and research methods. Dr. Roginska is Past-President of the AES, AES Director, AES Fellow, and is the faculty sponsor of the Society for Women in TeCHnology (SWiTCH) at NYU. Her work has been supported by the National Science Foundation and various industry partners.

Advanced Projects in Immersive Sound

This course is designed for students who have a strong foundation in immersive
sound principles and techniques and wish to deepen their knowledge through hands-on projects. Through a series of guided projects and individual exploration, students work on advanced challenges in immersive sound design, spatial audio research, and interactive audio experiences. The course emphasizes practical skills development, creative problem-solving, and collaboration in the context of real-world immersive sound projects.

Audio Mastering

Mastering is the crucial final stage of audio production where subtle to transformative techniques are used to ensure that recorded works are ready for mass distribution. The craft demands a wide-ranging aesthetic sense, a solid understanding of digital audio, aural communication skills, and deep listening. This class combines demonstrations, discussions of theory and process, and hands-on practice. Significant participation in the form of frequent and continuing discussions throughout the semester is required.

Colloquy in Music Technology

The final masters project in Music Technology reflects some contribution to the field, and will bring together the student's class work experience and interests during the two year Masters program.
