After graduating with an MS from Columbia University’s Occupational Therapy Program, Sheri worked for decades as an OTR, primarily in mental health and school-based settings. In addition, she supervised students in the field at many mental health and older adult sites.
As part of NYU’s adjunct faculty since 1997, Sheri has instructed in and lectured for a variety of courses in the entry level Master’s Program. She also served as Admissions Director for 3 years.
She is an active member of the steering committee for NYSOTA’s Mental Health Task Force, a group supporting recognition of psychosocial aspects of OT in all areas of practice, and expanding OT mental health career opportunities in community practice. Sheri is on the editorial board for Occupational Therapy in Mental Health, and has co-authored a chapter in the soon-to-be-published 5th edition of The Texture of Life textbook.
