Occupational Therapy

Christine Sproat, MA, OTR/L is Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Occupational Therapy, where she teaches Level I Fieldwork Pediatric Simulation. She earned her Post-Professional Master’s in Occupational Therapy from New York University in 2001, serving as a Teaching Fellow with the late Professor Jim Hinojosa, and completed her undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh in 1997.

Christine is the director and owner of Canyon Kids Occupational Therapy in Bethesda, MD. With extensive clinical experience supporting children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities, she specializes in sensory integration, neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT), feeding disorders, motor learning and praxis, social participation, self-regulation, executive functioning, handwriting, and visual perceptual motor skills.

She has developed community programs, led school-based workshops on movement and outdoor play, and frequently consults with families, educators, therapists, psychologists, and pediatricians. Passionate about education and mentorship, Christine enjoys teaching and guiding future occupational therapists.
