Lucero is passionate about social-emotional development in early childhood, peer interactions as mechanisms to foster positive behaviors, prevention science, and educational interventions to promote healthy school environments.
Before coming to NYU, she was a research assistant at the EASEL and SEED Labs at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). In Colombia, her home country, she worked at Universidad de Los Andes assessing school climate and social-emotional competencies in elementary school students, and at the Ministry of Education, where she contributed to the first quality measurement of early childhood education services.
