Shanteria Carr, OTD, OTR/L is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Dr. Carr earned her bachelor's degree in Health Science at the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at Howard University. She received her doctorate in Occupational Therapy with a specialization in pediatrics and leadership from New York University in 2020.
Dr. Carr has clinical experience working with children with developmental disabilities in school-based, outpatient, and early intervention settings. She is committed to providing resources, education, and culturally tailored interventions to minoritized communities to increase access to occupational therapy services.
Dr. Carr’s research interests include the early identification of children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disorders. She is also interested in supporting families through the provision of services and developing effective academic support systems for occupational therapy minority students.
