María V. Díaz is a Resource Specialist at the NYS Language RBE-RN at New York University. Prior to retiring from the NYC DOE, she served as Deputy Superintendent and Director of Program Review for the Division of English Language Learners. Upon retiring, she served as an educational consultant and later joined The College Board as they opened schools in high-needs communities serving urban youth. After The College Board, she joined the NYS Language RBERN at NYU. Throughout her career at the NYCDOE, she served as a business teacher, assistant principal, elementary and middle school principal. She has been an adjunct professor at Long Island University and Bank Street Graduate School of Education. She holds an M.A. in Education, a Professional Diploma in Administration and Supervision, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership.
