How to Participate

Course Registration

Summer 2021 Term

  • Registration Opens: April 12, 2021
  • Registration Ends: May 23, 2021*

Current NYU students can self-register for our remote global learning courses, per the NYU Academic Calendar for Summer 2021.

Visiting students must submit a request form to be approved and receive further instructions from a Global Affairs staff on registration.

Don't forget to meet with your academic advisor to ensure that the global course you plan to enroll in will count towards your degree requirements.

*Registration continues thereafter by request to steinhardt.global@nyu.edu on a space-available basis.

Who Can Participate

  • NYU graduate students
  • NYU undergraduate students (for select global courses) who meet the following criteria:
    • 96+ earned credits
    • related coursework
    • approval from the faculty director as well as their advisor
  • Non-NYU graduate students and professionals who are not enrolled at an academic institution

Costs

Graduate Students

Students enrolled in a graduate course will be billed NYU Steinhardt Graduate Study Tuition and Fees set for 2020-2021. Tuition and fees are due per the NYU Bursar's Payment Schedule for the Summer 2021 term.

EXAMPLE (3-credit Course)

Estimated Direct Cost Total - $6,263

Undergraduate Students

Students enrolled in an undergraduate course will be billed NYU Steinhardt Undergraduate Tuition and Fees set for 2020-2021. Tuition and fees are due per the NYU Bursar's Payment Schedule for the Summer 2021 term.

 EXAMPLE (3-credit Course)

Estimated Direct Cost Total - $5,260

PLEASE NOTE: The tuition and fee charges will be noted as "overseas" on your Summer bursar bill since the below remote global courses are planned by the Steinhardt Global Affairs office. However, these charges follow their respective graduate and undergraduate tuition and fees as any other in-person Steinhardt undergraduate course for AY 2020-2021.

Ireland: Community-Engaged Theatre

Explore facilitation, devising, and playwriting/adaptation, along with approaches to using dramatic activities to create a context for theatre work in collaboration with different groups and communities.

This multidisciplinary course will use NYU Tel Aviv as a base to explore the complexity of a wide range of issues related to food, nutrition, culture, health, and agriculture in countries surrounding the Mediterranean.

Ubuntu: Collective Consciousness in Everyday Life

Open to all undergraduates, by advisement, in this course, the concept of Ubuntu will be defined and analyzed in multiple disciplines in the context of South Africa and the United States. Students will experiment with concepts of Ubuntu in collaboration with students in South Africa and apply these concepts to contemporary social problems.
