Research Description/Bio: 

Sharnic's research focus is centered around understanding behavior education settings in order to design programs aimed at improving learning levels in low-income contexts. He is interested in teasing out the role of psychological factors to explain the disparity in learning levels across and within classrooms, and design policy-relevant programs aimed at providing behavioral nudges to improve performance. He focuses on understanding forces, such as aspirations and motivations, that guide the behaviors of students, teachers, and parents in making educational decisions for children in low-income settings.
