Research Description/Bio: 

Semiha Ömür is a doctoral student in the Developmental Psychology program at NYU Steinhardt, working with Dr. Selçuk Şirin. Before starting at NYU, she received her B.S. in Psychology from Middle East Technical University (METU) and her M.A. in Psychology from Bilkent University. Her master's thesis was on parental socialization of bystander responses to bullying. Semiha is broadly interested in child and adolescent development within diverse social and cultural contexts. Her long-term goal is to bridge developmental research with practical strategies that support children and families in varied contexts.
