Research Description/Bio:
Scott Z. Brauer is a doctoral candidate in the Applied Psychology department with a specialization in Developmental Psychology. His research focuses on the lived experiences of immigrant-origin youth and adults through a mixed-methods approach with a particular emphasis on the importance of acculturation processes on immigrants’ key developmental outcomes across backgrounds and contexts. Specifically, his research has examined patterns in acculturation measurement and the impacts of this process on immigrants’ risk behaviors, civic engagement, mental health, and educational outcomes over time. Other interests include the global representation of adolescent identity research and the nuanced impacts of emerging technologies on development.
