Research Description/Bio:
Allison Falls is a doctoral student in the Clinical/Counseling Psychology program at New York University. Her research interests center around the mental health of racial/ethnic minority youth. Allison hopes to uplift underrepresented youth by identifying risk and protective factors for psychopathology and developing culturally grounded, community-based prevention and intervention programming. Before joining NYU, Allison was a post-baccalaureate fellow at McLean Hospital, where she worked as a Community Residence Counselor at the 3East Dialectical Behavior Therapy Partial Hospital Program. She led DBT skills groups and provided individual skills coaching for adolescents with emotion dysregulation and suicidal ideation, while also investigating numerous research questions, including how discrimination and mindfulness impact internalizing symptoms among patients. Allison received her B.S. in Psychology from Duke University.
