Rhea Almeida works at PRE as a Research Project Manager focused on improving equitable summer learning strategies in districts across the US. She believes in evidence-based, bottom-up approaches to social justice, equitable policy design, and advocacy. Her interests and past experience are in financial inclusion (at the Financial Access Initiative), racial and gender rights advocacy (at the women's labor union SEWA India), and youth workforce development, particularly for historically marginalized populations. She has also supported the UNCDF’s Local Development Finance team as a consultant. In addition she has a proven track record in communication, having worked as a TV news journalist as well as the co-creator of the Hallway Talks podcast. She has a Masters in Public Administration – Policy & Development from NYU Wagner. Originally from Mumbai, India, she now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
