Mahin Salman is a Research Engineer at NYU's Music and Audio Research Lab (MARL) and the Center for Urban Sciences and Progress (CUSP) . She works on the development and implementation of advanced sensor nodes for large-scale, high-resolution acoustic data capture. She is a seasoned Technical Producer having over 6 years experience with creative technology start-ups in New York. She holds an M.A. in Geographical and Earth Sciences from the University of Glasgow as well as an M.M. in Music Technology from New York University.
In addition she is a multimedia installation artist who has previously shown work at the Rubin Museum, Milk studios and the Fringe festival. Her work explores physical computing, human computer interaction, third culture identity, gender, mental health, memory and cognition.
