Lizzie joined Global TIES in late 2019, first as Project Managing Director for the Early Childhood Development in Emergencies & Conflict (ECDEC) team and later as the Director for Project Management & External Relations. Since then, she has led the Center’s operational transformation through periods of both rapid growth and strategic contraction - continuously right-sizing systems, structures, and staffing to meet evolving organizational needs in a dynamic environment. She has modernized the Center’s financial, HR, and project management systems; strengthened strategic planning and operational alignment; and cultivated strong partnerships with major donors and research collaborators, including the LEGO Foundation, Jacobs Foundation, Sesame Workshop, and RTI.
Prior to joining Global TIES for Children, Lizzie spent 15 years in project management and leadership roles with a number of large international non-governmental organizations, designing, implementing, and evaluating complex international development projects. She lived and worked in Afghanistan, Liberia, Nigeria, and Ethiopia, managing post-conflict and media-production projects on a range of topics, including civic engagement, youth empowerment, health, agriculture, and humanitarian assistance, all with research components. As a senior manager, Lizzie has helped to build and develop teams and offices alongside individual projects, leading the design of systems and environments necessary for flexible and creative growth. Lizzie holds an MSc in Media and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a B.A. in Political Science from Brown University.
