Kelvin Walls is a Music Technology PhD student in New York University’s Music and Audio Research Lab (MARL), studying under the advisement of Dr. Leila Adu-Gilmore. He is an interdisciplinary artist, composer, and scientist who studied sound art and technology as an undergraduate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As an artist, Kelvin has collaborated with creatives and researchers across a broad array of disciplines, including fashion design, cinematography, and climate science. As a scientist, his research on stylistic trends in popular music has been presented at the International Society for Music Information Retrieval and Stanford’s Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics.
