Karina Conti

Social Development Intervention Support Specialist

As a Social Development Intervention (SDI) Support Specialist, Karina draws from her own previous practice as a SDI provider at a middle school in the Lower East Side. She has a unique lens for social communication and advocacy, as well as a strong interest in the cultural layers of social communication. In support of Nest students, she designs and delivers professional development, provides on-site and remote consultation with SDI providers, and supports collaborative and transdisciplinary discussions across school community settings.

Karina is a licensed speech-language pathologist and Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Science, concentration in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Delaware. She minored in Disabilities Studies and Women’s Studies. She earned her Master’s degree from Lehman College in the Bronx. She is fluent in Portuguese & English, and conversant in Spanish.
