Jules Csillag (she/her)

Social Development Consultant

Jules Csillag, CCC-SLP, is a licensed language therapist and teacher. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and Psychology from McGill University, where she worked at a child social cognition laboratory and earned her Master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she worked at a neurocognition of language laboratory. Jules is an adjunct faculty member for pre-service language therapists, and she is the author of Differentiated Reading Instruction: Strategies and Technology Tools to Help All Students Improve (Routledge, 2016). Jules enjoys disseminating research and practical strategies through various educational publications, and is passionate about disability justice and liberation, particularly within education.

In her capacity as a Social Development Consultant at Nest, Jules provides on-site and remote consultation services to support and empower SLPs on their implementation of neurodiversity-affirming therapy, integration of clinical goals into the classroom setting, and collaborative practices as members of multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, she provides guidance and support for implementation of Social Development Intervention, Nest's unique approach to providing speech-language therapy. Jules is honored to design and deliver professional development to practitioners  (often in collaboration with colleagues) to deepen their understanding and build their capacity to cultivate inclusive spaces reflective of the intersectional needs of their students. She is also consistently looks forward to teaching graduate level courses on the social model of disability, understanding the sensory system and supporting regulation, implementing neurodiversity-affirming and proactive supports, and understanding and supporting challenging situations.
