Juan San Taveras is NYU Metro Center’s Operations Administrator. In this role, Juan provides administrative management support with various HR/department matters including employment opportunities, onboarding new staff and affiliates, overseeing staff reimbursements, and supporting culture-building at the Metro Center.
Before joining the team, Juan worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Administration at NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. Prior to that, he served as the Executive Assistant to the Assistant Chief of Endoscopy at the Columbia University Medical Center. Aside from dedicating many years of administrative and operational support, Juan was also the Vice President of NYU Steinhardt’s first ever LatinX Graduate Student association where his vision of bringing students of LatinX backgrounds together and raising awareness to injustices faced by the LatinX community, including the complexities of race and class issues within the LatinX diaspora has become a reality alongside other founding members from his cohort. Outside of his professional positions, Juan is also a licensed Dance Fitness instructor and works with various fitness facilities to showcase different dance styles to students of all levels.
Juan earned his M.A in the Higher Education and Student Affairs program here at NYU in May of 2020, also earning the "Community Building" program award for his class. He received his B.S degree in Hospitality Management at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.
