Iris Fishman, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, directs the clinic at the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders. She is a speech-language pathologist who has directed a number of speech-language pathology and assistive technology programs in the NY metropolitan area including United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) NYC, UCP Fairfield County, CT, and the Kornreich Technology Center at the National Center for Disability Services on Long Island. She was also the Executive Director of Communication Independence for the Neurologically Impaired, Co-Coordinator of the Technology Taskforce for the ALS Association, and Director of Alliances for Blink Twice, Inc., a company that manufactured an innovative communication device. In addition, Iris served as President of the United States Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Coordinator of ASHA’s Special Interest Group 12 on AAC. Dr. Fishman is the author of a book and several articles on AAC, has presented at major national conferences and guest lectured at a number of universities ; she is enrolled in the doctoral program in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at the Graduate Center, CUNY.
