Emily Haire is a Social Development Consultant with the Nest Support Project. As a Social Development Consultant, she provides on-site and remote consultation services to support and empower SLPs on their implementation of neurodiversity-affirming therapy, integration of clinical goals into the classroom setting, and collaborative practices as members of multidisciplinary teams and additionally, she provides guidance and support for implementation of Social Development Intervention, Nest's unique approach to providing speech therapy.
Emily’s enthusiasm for and dedication to Nest philosophies stems from her years’ experience as an SDI provider at the elementary-level in Norwalk, CT at Fox Run Elementary School. Emily is committed to lifelong learning and considering autistic advocates’ perspectives to form meaningful, strengths-based interventions that incorporate autistic students’ interests. She is dedicated to the process of team collaboration and supports interdisciplinary teams to generalize SDI concepts to the classroom and beyond. She places a strong emphasis on the value of each team member’s unique lens when considering how to best support Nest students.
Emily earned her bachelor of arts in Communication Sciences and Psychology and her master of arts in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Connecticut.
