Alice (Bai) Xue completed her Ph.D. in Music Theory and Analysis at the CUNY Graduate Center, and is currently teaching at NYU Steinhardt and Mannes College of Music. Prior to these appointments, Alice enjoyed teaching at Hunter College, Hofstra University, and Temple University. Alice's profound love for all music genres shapes her academic inquiry; her current focus, though, is form and structure of African music. She has presented her findings at a number of conferences, such as the Society for Music Theory's 2022 annual conference.
