During the COVID time, graduate student Michelle Li (Studio of Eduardus Halim) took the opportunity to conduct an independent study exploring Asian American identity and its relation to music and music-making. Her study, "Staging the Musical Identities of Asian America," included learning "Tree Without Wind," a recent work by Huang Ruo, whom The New Yorker has called “one of the world’s leading young composers.”
