Screen Scoring Alum Named Composer-in-Residence with Chicago Symphony Orchestra

Screen Scoring alum Jessie Montgomery (2013) has been appointed by Music Director Riccardo Muti as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Mead Composer-in-Residence for 2021-24. The celebrated appointment, previously held by such luminaries as John Corigliano, follows a series of commissions Jessie has composed for the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, The Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall. Widely heralded as one of the most innovative young voices, she has been acknowledged by Strings magazine as “One of the most powerful advocates at work today for diversity in the arts.”
