The NYU Performing Arts Administration community is participating in a joint European Network on Cultural Management and Policy (ENCATC) and Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) initiative to support refugee Ukrainian arts administration students

Below is a letter from Performing Arts Administration program director Dr. Richard Maloney urging everyone to support Ukrainian arts administration students.

Dear PAA students and alumni,

I know you are as concerned as I am over the recent outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine and horrified by the loss of life and destruction of the country’s cultural heritage.

Every sector of Ukrainian society, including the arts, has been impacted by this conflict.  As a result, many Ukrainian arts administration students have fled to nearby countries where they hope to safely continue their studies.  These schools are providing housing for the students and welcoming them into their programs; however, the students lack money to purchase clothing, food, and other necessities.

ENCATC (the European Network on Cultural Management and Policy), the world’s largest association of cultural management and policy scholars and educators, has responded to this crisis by creating a fund and is soliciting donations from concerned arts supporters around the globe.  They will distribute the money to Ukrainian arts administration students who are now studying at ENCATC member universities in the Czech Republic and Poland.

As the Vice-President of the board of ENCATC, I am supportive of and committed to the success of this initiative.  I am sharing this information with all of you so you might consider joining our efforts to support Ukrainian arts administration students and their continuing dream to live a life filled with art.

Below, you will find the link where you can make your donation.  Any amount is gratefully accepted.

Thank you for your support.

Best,

Richard Maloney
