The Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU Steinhardt is proud to announce a new award for advanced doctoral level students.

Named to honor the legacy of the late Dr. Jim Hinojosa, NYU professor emeritus, the Jim Hinojosa Doctoral Award will provide funding to NYU OT doctoral students who are in the final phases of completing their terminal projects. The award seeks to honor Dr. Hinojosa’s desire to help hard-working doctoral students complete their studies. The funding is available to students working in the areas that Dr. Hinojosa valued highly: pediatrics and education.

Jim Hinojosa was an outstanding occupational therapist, educator, and scholar, but the role that was most dear to him was serving as a mentor. He would always find time to mentor his colleagues and his students, and watching his students achieve their potential gave him great pleasure. This award commemorates his desire to promote the next generation of occupational therapy scholars.
