Sheldon Fisher

Sheldon Fisher successfully advanced his career during the COVID-19 pandemic by starting a new position as Individual Giving Associate at WNET where he manages donor relationships at the Patron level. Previously, Fisher held fundraising roles  at TheaterWorksUSA, Apollo Theater, and Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning. Recently, he joined Beta Gamma Chi Fraternity Inc. (Queer Affirming Fraternity) where he curated a national program called Code Red to raise funds for HIV research through the arts.

Sheldon, how can the current Performing Arts Administration students interested in the type of work you do enhance their credentials?
“Intern! Network! The best way to enhance your credentials is to meet the professionals in the field and work alongside them. The knowledge gained in PAA course work is relevant; use it to jump right in! Meditate on your talents and bring them to the field! You are ENOUGH!”

Fisher was recently featured in the WNET employee highlight series. In the interview, he talks about his background in the arts and why giving back to the community is especially important to him.

“I strive to give others who may not have had my experience the opportunity to gain a deeper association with their artistic passions.”
