James J. Peters/Bronx VA Medical Center Dietetic Internship

Students who apply to the dietetic internship at the James J. Peters/Bronx VA Medical Center (JJPVAMC) and who have not previously matriculated in the MS program in Clinical Nutrition at NYU Steinhardt must apply to the 40-credit MS Nutrition program. Dietetic internship applicants, without a previously obtained MS in Clinical Nutrition, must apply to NYU MS Nutrition program by NYU deadline to be considered.

Students who are matriculated in the MS program at NYU at the time of acceptance to the JJPVAMC Dietetic Internship continue in the 40-credit MS degree. Upon completion of the JJPVAMC dietetic internship, they request a credit reduction from 40 to 34 credits by submitting their Dietetic Internship Verification Statements to the MS Program Director or advisor.

(*Note: Effective January 1, 2024 the eligibility requirement to sit for the credentialing examination for dietitians will be a master's degree; please visit the Commission on Dietetic Registration site for details).
